Great day.

Today was a really great day.  We didn’t go to the nursing home today in 1st and 2nd.  So we got to study for our EOC in my class.  Which I needed A LOT! I felt very unprepared.  But I’m getting more prepared.  I was also really tired of going there every day and doing the same thing over and over again. 

Then today in band was okay.  We didn’t do that much.  We just played a few songs so it wasn’t challenging at all.

Then English is fun because we’re just working on our senior portfolios.  They’re actually pretty fun to do.  I’m having a lot of fun with it.  I’m almost done with Pride and Prejudice.  I haven’t had time to finish it yet, but I think I’m going to finish it today after I finish decorating my grandma’s Christmas tree.

The Nursing Home

So I went to the Segraves Care Center yesterday and I have this cute, little old guy that I absolutely love. His name is Phem and he’s so much fun. You can’t really understand him when he talks, but he’s a lot of fun to talk to. I shaved him yesterday and I thought he would be really difficult to shave because he moves around a lot and everything. But he wasn’t. It was the most serious I think I’ve ever seen him. I love going to the nursing home just so I can see him. I try to go see him every day that we go for class. But sometimes I just don’t have time to go and see him. 

On another note, we’re decorating our Christmas tree tonight!!! I can’t wait. That’s my favorite part of Christmas.

Excited.

I’m really excited because tomorrow the band goes on their annual trip to the Charlotte Thanksgiving Day Parade. We also do a parade in Salisbury tomorrow and then the one in Charlotte on Thursday. I’m really excited because we’re staying overnight in Charlotte tomorrow night. It’s so much fun. I have the reception for my scholarship at the hotel we’re staying at so it will be fun. I had a really great weekend last weekend. My sister, my mom, and I went to a Jason Aldean concert in Johnson City, TN on Friday night. It was AMAZING. I think he actually sounds better in person than on his CD’s. I loved it so much. Then on Saturday the band went to Concord for a parade. The parade is like 2 and 1/2 miles long, so it wasn’t that fun. But we got to go to Concord Mills for a while to shop. I liked hanging out with my friends at the mall. Then last night I went to see New Moon. It was GREAT. I’ve come to the conclusion that I am in love with Taylor Lautner. He’s so gorgeous. I really want to go see the movie again. Hopefully I will soon.

Yay!

I’m so excited because there is no school tomorrow. So finally I can stay up as long as I want to and sleep in the morning after. Ah. It’s so great. And then I plan on spending the whole day with my parents and I think we are planning to go see my sister at college. That should be really fun. Today was a very relaxing day. I got to go to the nursing home during 1st and 2nd. It wasn’t too bad today. Then during third and the beginning of fourth I was in Boone at Golden Corral to receive my Good Citizen Award. I got a pin and a free lunch (woo!) Even though it wasn’t very good, it was still nice. I’m always game for a free meal. Anyway, after that I went to 4th which is always TONS of fun. Today we did our journals, then did some background on Frankenstein (sp?), and then we read in our books. I’m reading The Glass Castle and it’s pretty interesting so far. I’m only on page 50 so hopefully I’ll get more into it later on.

Rough day.

Today was a pretty bad day. I was really excited about going to BETA Convention today.  And I felt very confident about our talent act when we practiced it this morning.  I had no doubt in my mind that we would do well.  We got there and it was at the Broyhill Center, which had NO stage.  That was the first big thing. We practiced on a stage so we were all kind of nervous about performing on the ground. But we all thought we could get through that. Then when it was our time to go do our act it was a HUUUUGE mess.  The sound system was all screwed up. You couldn’t hear the music playing hardly at all. Then they would start the music at the wrong time.  It was a big disaster. Then this morning I was on my way to practice and, of course, I forgot my stuff at my house. I was already 5 minutes away and I was late like I always am. So I had to turn around and it put me even more behind. THEN I got behind people that were going SOOOO slow.  It’s like they were TRYING to make me even more late. UGHHH! Stupid people. I hate driving sometimes. There are so many ignorant people on the roads. Well I’ve vented enough. Haha. I feel better now.

Really tired.

Today has been a pretty rough day. We had to lift people in Allied II today and I’m not stong enough to lift anyone so it was REALLY tough. We had to move people from a bed to a stretcher and that was tough too. I think I’m going to have to lift weights or something to get stronger. Because I could barely lift Mrs. Ashley and she’s like 120 pounds. I can’t even imagine lifting someone who’s really big. Then in band it was pretty fun. It didn’t have anything bad that happened or anything good. Then English is pretty fun. We get to spend time in the computer lab. But we have to work on essays. I hate essays so much. But I’d better get over it because I’m sure I’ll be doing a lot of essays in college. I had a GREAT night on Monday because I fount out I got a $10,000 scholarship from Lenoir-Rhyne University! So I’m so excited about that. And we had senior night at the game on Monday so that was nice to be recognized. It’s been going pretty good here lately. Hopefully it’ll stay that way.

Enjoying my weekend.

I’m so excited because I have nothing at all going on this weekend. It’s really nice because usually I have something band related on the weekends. But not this weekend. It’s great. AND it’s not snowing or anything so I can actually go do something. Last weekend it was snowing so I couldn’t really do that much. Today I’m going out to eat at Los Arcoiris with my friend Whitney. Then we’ll probably go back to her house and play Rock Band. I love playing the drums even though I’m not good at it at all. But it’s still a lot of fun. I’m really, really excited for next weekend because a bunch of me and a bunch of my friends are going to go see Paranormal Activity in Boone. I saw on the Internet that people went to the premiere and they ended up leaving because it was so scary. It’s going to be great. And one of my friends is going to take me out to eat so I’m excited about that too. I’m excited for a lot of things. Especially November 20! Not only is it when New Moon comes out, but I have tickets to a Jason Aldean concert in Johnson City! Ahhh! I’m so excited. Then my family is going to Disney World for Christmas, which is an annual thing for us. It’s great to go there for Christmas. I’m just waiting for the end of the semester so I can go to sunny, warm Florida for a week.

Loving the weather!

I love the weather right now. I like it when it’s really, really cold just so I can wear scarves, boots, and a big coat. I love this time of year so much. Yesterday my parents and I went to Linville to eat at this cafe. It was AMAZING. We also got a great glimpse of Grandfather Mountain (yay alliteration). It was BEAUTIFUL. On the way we encountered a few snow showers, nothing major. But it was still nice to see the snow. I love it when it snows. Not only because it gets us out of school sometimes, but it also is soooo pretty. I just finished a really good book too. It’s been a great weekend. Unfortunately I have to go back to stupid school tomorrow. Ugh.

Just finished a GREAT book!

So I’ve been reading all day today.  I’m not even kidding.  All day long.  I read over 300 pages today in my book because I just couldn’t put it down.  It’s in this series called Blue Bloods. And the new book is called The Van Alen Legacy.  It SOOO good. I didn’t like the the books before it, but this book was one of the best books I’ve ever read.  It doesn’t rival the Twilight Saga or anything, but it’s still a really good book.  Through this English class I’ve started reading more and more.  I think this week I’ve finished 2 books this week! Yay! I think I only have one more left until I finish my 10 books for the semester. But I know I’ll be reading WAYYY more than ten by the end of the semester. Well I’m going to go start yet another book!

Tired.

Right now I’m REALLY tired.  I went to sleep really late last night because I just didn’t feel like sleeping then.  Now I really want to sleep. Thankfully it’s almost the end of school.  I had a very tough weekend. We had our band contest at the high school on Saturday night.  So I had to make a poster and I had a couple of friends over until like 1 on Saturday morning. Then I worked all day until 1:00 on Sunday morning with the contest. I’m absolutely worn out.  I’m going to go sleep now at home. Thank goodness!
